THE developer of a mixed-development project in Taman Chempaka in Ampang has been warned that if there were to be anymore complaints from the public regarding construction noise, they would have to stop work at 7pm. Now their working hours are from 8am to 10pm.
Selangor state Housing Building Management Squatters Committee chairman Iskandar Abdul Samad said he warned the developer RK Group in a meeting recently that he had received numerous complaints that construction work was causing a nuisance to the residents in the area.
“I don’t think that we are being unreasonable here because we have complaints that work sometimes go on after midnight.
“Residents have also complained that construction debris from the site spills over to the road. There should be a barrier put up to separate the development and the housing area,”he said.
In the meeting, Iskandar also advised the developers to come up with a proper traffic dispersal system for the area.
“Right now I have instructed them to put a traffic controller there, but something concrete has to be done about the traffic system in the area.
“I am worried about the future congestion in the township once this project is completed and something must be done to mitigate that,” Iskandar said.
StarMetro had earlier reported that the residents of Taman Chempaka were annoyed with the project because of the noise and air pollution, mud and parking problems.
They had made many complaints to the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council but nothing had been done about the problem.
