Naim Cendera to set up construction academy

Naim Cendera Holdings Bhd has earmarked an initial RM10 million over five years to set up its a construction academy that will eventually be open to others in the industry, including unemployed graduates.
In a statement on March 14, it said the NAIM Construction Academy would be for apprenticeship training for general construction workers and supervisors.
It said it would also establish an industrialised building systems (IBS) training facility adjacent to the academy, which will be sited a 40ha land in Bandar Baru Permjaya, Miri.
Naim Cendera said the academy would initially be for its own staff and its bumiputera sub-contractors.
Its chairman Datuk Abdul Hamed Sepawai said the main aim of the academy was to implement a bumiputera contractors incubation programme.
